Well I had the thought they could make a quick sequel to botw employing the identical map and Animal Crossing Items assets and just adding/changing items sufficient to justify a new game but making it come out quickly. Well here we are four years later who knew it'd take a long time to do that. It be unrecognizable at this stage

The most logical route to me: BotW prequel. Hyrule in all of its glory. Buildings, not ruins. Maybe many years before the Calamity. PROPER dungeons - not the 1-3 puzzles cookie cutter shrines and the god-awful celestial monster rotate-shit nightmares. Classic, put in a big ass dungeon and resolve a bunch of puzzles, find hidden items and work your way through. Let's get back to this.

A direct sequel to BotW. Connect is cool and all but after 15ish games as him as the primary character, can we perform as someone else? Spice up the story somewhat... I feel as the stories in Zelda are mainly the same, and very generic. Give us a true story this time.

What is probably happening and why they won't even reveal us an update: A totally different style of Zelda. It is not unprecedented. They could have gotten side-tracked here, and just redesigned the game completely. New map, new artwork style, new narrative, who knows. For all this waiting, I'd welcome it.

I like to think we still dont know enough about the area of botw, if its the exact same exact world map I would say I wouldnt be too into it but the area we get to research in the very first game isn't all the world. I think we are gonna get a brand new side of hyrule. But unlike Esam who can forever be tormented by"boxing ring" and other such things he said, if some people get famous now we can always use different usernames so nobody knows exactly what we said and did when we were dumb kids.

made me know the price of anonymity that big streamers/youtubers and actors cover. Well worth the price IMO but it's undoubtedly a factor.

There was little to no respect for Sakurai from the west in the afternoon. I recall there was a favorite webseries of SSB bits made from spritework and there was an entire joke of Ridley, Geno, Mega man, and a few other characters becoming mad they were not from the game and Geno just fireblasting all of Japan because of it. It had been just like, in retrospect, incredibly fucked up

You are right that there was a lot of hate and disrespect towards Sakurai, but Smash Kingdom was all in good fun and normally featured lots of dark comedy. You have to dig deep in the archives of Smashboards, GameFAQs and NeoGAF (if that is even possible with the latter) to discover the authentic vitriol.

That being said I do want Skull Kid was at precisely the same amount of demand today as he had been then. Zelda still has gotten no more meaningful representation, and Skull Kid stays the ideal pick to give the franchise it's much deserved new fighter--and he's been largely forgotten in discussions about new characters. Skull Kid will forever be my number one pick. I'd really be really pleased with Midna or Tetra too. Just SOMEONE to Buy Nook Miles Ticket signify Zelda that isn't a Triforce Trio incarnation.
