Take-Two Interactive shared its thoughts on NBA 2K21 Next-Gen price hike

In the last few weeks, one of the biggest concerns regarding the next console generation has become the possibility of next-gen games becoming more expensive across the board. This is largely due to the news that NBA 2K21 will cost $70 on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, and today 2K Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive, shared its thoughts on the matter.

CEO Strauss Zelnick explained that while it believes the price hike is long overdue, it doesn’t want to commit to $70 as the base price for all its games going forward. Prices, according to Zelnick, are set on a game-by-game basis. “I would just observe there hasn’t been a frontline price increase for a very long time although costs have increased significantly,” Zelnick told investors.
