Diablo 2: Eldritch and Shenk Farming Guide - Why farm Eldritch and Shenk?

Eldritch the Rectifier and Shenk the Overseer are early-game Bosses that open the end-game for many builds in Diablo 2 Resurrected. Their proximity to some Waypoint, with their high minion density and low damage, make sure they are incredibly valuable for farming on less powerful builds. They do not require Teleport and therefore are typically only Immune to Colds. Both bosses are much more valuable to farm on more advanced builds rich in Player Settings, so their minions have a better likelihood of dropping High Runes.

They can be found just North and South of the Frigid Highlands Waypoint in Act 5 at the end of the first map outside Harrogath, the Bloody Foothills. You encounter Shenk the Overseer on the way toward the Waypoint, and aggro Eldritch the Rectifier by running slightly past it.

The biggest strength of the farming area may be the proximity to the Waypoint. Both Super Uniques spawn inside a static location within their area which adds value for online play. Additionally, because you can Save and Exit immediately after killing both packs, you load into Act 5 Harrogath when joining the following game. This puts you in proximity to the Waypoint and minimizes loading screens.

The density of Minions also makes sure they are great Experience farming spots starting in the early 70s and into the late 80s.

Since both are Super Uniques, they always drop 2 components of Magic quality or more. (Unless they drop a Rune or Gem). This means you don't need to farm them on higher Player Settings to find the largest advantage of your Magic Find. When spawned on higher Player Settings, their minions have a higher likelihood of dropping valuable items, like High Runes and good Bases for Runewords.

Both monsters are naturally Immune to Cold and could become safe from 1 other damage type based on their random affixes. They can typically be killed by every other damage type, and builds with 2 damage types can invariably kill them. They can't be Immune to Magic.

D2R Ladder Items

Due to their high Monster Level and also the third-highest Treasure Class (TC), they can drop virtually every useful item hanging around, or more to Zod Rune.

Necromancer - Bone Spear

The Bone Spear Necro has three amazing tools which make farming these bosses as simple as can be. Bone Spear deals Magic Damage, which neither pack can ever be Immune to. Bone Prison completely controls every monster on the watch's screen, as well as drags more monsters in your direction due to it aggro-ing more off-screen mobs. And lastly, Corpse Explosion will delete everything within its range once the very first few monsters die.

Paladin - Blessed Hammer

This build uses Magic Damage and it has incredible survivability through Max Block Chance with Holy Shield. Even on higher Player Settings, Blessed Hammer shreds.

Sorceress - Lightning

With the quickest Faster Cast Rate Breakpoint and massive targetable damage in Lightning, the Lightning Sorc deletes this boss packs on Player 1 Settings. Her utilization of Energy Shield helps to keep her safe contrary gets into melee range.

Cold Sorceresses shouldn't farm here, since both Bosses are Immune to Cold. Check out the Mephisto Farming Guide the industry has better locations to farm on those builds.
