Yakuza Like a Dragon Yen As anyone who’s played any of the first seven entries (or other spinoffs) can tell you there’s nothing quite like the Yakuza series in the video game world. Created by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega Yakuza has long been a staple among Japanese gamers looking for titles a little more mature than something like the Final Fantasy series.Whether you’re a veteran or a Yakuza rookie SPIN chatted with Hiroyuki Sakamoto the game’s producer to find out what players should expect from the new title.

Yakuza Like a Dragon Top Up It turns out that when Yakuza developers pranked the world with a turn-based gameplay reveal of Yakuza: Like a Dragon last April the game was actually still action-based.If you're unfamiliar with the story it's a wild one. On April 1 2019 the video below premiered from Yakuza developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio giving the world a look at the turn-based gameplay of the next game in the series. As you can see protagonist Ichiban Kasuga steps up to confront some street thugs with a brand new RPG-based gameplay system.

Yakuza is a long-running series full of intriguing characters and deep lore. But how memorable is it to someone who's only sort of paying attention?Recently I’ve been playing a ton of Yakuza: Like a Dragon. It’s a phenomenal new direction for the series that changes things up in major ways while also providing a clear path for moving on from Kiryu’s story. However there is one major problem: it’s literally tearing my house apart. I’m playing it on PC which means my wife Amy can’t watch me play it before she goes to bed every night. It’s something she’s done for almost every other game in the series. However I didn’t think this was a big deal until she let me know otherwise. It was then that I found my wife thinks she “knows Yakuza.”
