I don't have a favorable review for youpersonally

I adore New Leaf. Likely 300+ hours in it. New horizons stinks for me since the crafting is restricting and Animal Crossing Nook Miles Ticket tedious, breakable tools are bullshit, qr codes are locked behind internet, and it feels just like a grindy mobile game--together with all the corner miles particularly. . .intense, in words that are respectful.

The game is quite much"do whatever you want as long as you can do it this way".

I don't have a favorable review for youpersonally, but I outlined my motives more clearly than"just dull"

I enjoy the game. I think if they genuinely indicate they mean to evolve the match, and not do the BS which GameFreak does with Pokemon(where they include a brand new mechanic but eliminate so much that it feels like a step backward ), then I am excited about that.

The game does have some serious shortcomings which have to be dealt with at the next iteration for it to be a bonded buy from me, however. Villagers are the big one. The personality types are too indistinguishable, and we need variations on each and every character (eg Snooty Villager A is a sass queen who is more inclined to produce lines about how'quaint' the decoration she's next to is, even while Snooty Villager B is a art-lover who is more likely to produce a line about the artistic values of this decoration). It is odd to have two villagers with the exact same character, and it necessarily makes you feel like a third-wheel since you don't think they are as cute as the other is. Similarly, we just plain need more lines for every villager type since the replica actually kills the illusion of those animals being your friends. There's also not much you can do together. It'd be nice to be able to, say, invite them to your cheap Animal Crossing Bells house or tell them to meet you at the museum in an hour or something.
