Richard Mille RM 037
Richard Mille has released a new timepiece, the RM 037, and a new in-house automatic movement.
RM 037 is equipped with the new CRMA1 movement, which is a high-tech movement made of grade 5 titanium skeleton. There is an oversized date display window at 12 o'clock and a function window at 4 o'clock. A pusher at 4 o'clock allows the wearer to select the mode: a single press selects the (W) winding, (N) neutral and (H) hand setting functions. The aperture at 4 o'clock indicates the selected function. The pusher at 10 o'clock controls the date change and is useful when the date needs to be corrected or adjusted.
“The three main parts of the case (bezel, case ring and case back) require 44 different stamping operations. The machining process takes two days to adjust the bezel, two days to adjust the strap and two days to adjust the case back. The complex case shape is obtained using a high-tech five-axis machine. The "Richard Mille" engraving on the case back and internal curves takes 45 hours per watch. The case is water-resistant to 50 meters, ensured by two nitrile O-ring seals. The case assembly features 20 grade 5 titanium spline screws and 316L stainless steel wear washers.
