Thymus gland is a soft lymphoid organ situated between the lungs and behind the breastbone. The main function of the thymus gland is secretion of hormone thymosin. Thymus cancer can be diagnosed with chest X-rays, CT Scans and biopsy and can be removed surgically if benign. Malignant Thymus cancer can be treated with Chemotherapy. Thymus cancer is a rare cancer and according to American cancer society, there are approximately 400 cases of thymus cancer every year.
