Personally, I enjoy sharing the island with my wife and daughter. I definitely understand wanting you yourself too. As always, more options and flexibility are constantly better.

Yeah, if both players were equal owners and could"advance" the island equally, it would be fine. I have it and my daughter is the island proprietor so there is really nothing I can do unless she goes and does the quests.
