Leveling methods levels 1-20 sardines. On OSRS gold the beginning of your trip with almost every ability in RuneScape it is very much worth it to do some quests that reward expertise in the skill you are going to train. Since on level 1 you'll burn off the majority of the food that you make it's a big time waste. There are just two very short quests that can get you over level 10 in cooking - Cook's Assistant and Gertrude's Cat. Conclusion of them can save you a lot of time.
If you would like to start leveling while making food you can do that too but it'll be much slower than doing these quests. Between levels 1-20 we'll cook Sardines and you want to make only around 120 of them (without burning) to reach level 20. They're a much better choice to Shrimps. To start off only fill your inventory with Sardines, click on your fish then on the fire and cooking will start automatically for every following fish.
LEVELS 20-30 Trouts within this level difference, the best fish to cook is a Trout. Those can be caught with fly fishing in Barbarian Village near Varrock or near Lumbridge Castle. If you're a new player and you also do not have the money you can go there using an axe and a tinderbox. Near the fishing place players will drop raw Trout as they're speedleveling Fishing. If you have some cash it would be faster to buy them from Grand Exchange and cook Trout at Rogue's Den or even Hosidius House. You will have to have approximately 130 Trouts cooked correctly to get level 30. Getting to 50 cooking needs to take around 1000 cooked Salmons and will take couple hours.
LEVELS 80+. Herbiboars. If you're over 80 Hunter level and you've got 31 in Herblore ability you can start harvesting herbs from such creatures. During the grind, you may receive not only experience in both skills but also herbs which could later be marketed or utilized. If you would like to enhance both it might be wise to use magical secateurs. There is also a small chance of receiving Herblore related pet named Herbi during your hunt within this location.
